L'Oreal Double Extend (BeautyTubes) Mascara

I've been wanting to try L'Oreal's new Double Extend (w/BeautyTubes Technology) Mascara. Basically, it is a primer+mascara combo, but this mascara isn't a normal mascara. It forms little tubes around each of your lashes when it dries, kind of like Blinc mascara.

Well, as I mentioned in my last post, I finally bought & tried it. The one thing I don't like about primer+mascara combos is that the mascara doesn't always glide smoothly over the primer (maybe I'm doing something wrong?), which is why I normally don't go for primer+mascara combos. Well, I finally got it on and, for the sole purpose of testing (I wouldn't do this normally), I left it on for several days.

Now, I can't compare this to Blinc mascara, since I've never tried it, but this stuff stays put pretty good! I didn't have any smudging until the very last day of wear & even then it was minimal. Another great thing about this mascara is how well it holds a curl. It kept the curl in my lashes the whole time I was wearing it, which for my limp lashes that's nothing short of astonishing!

However, I didn't like how dry & brittle it made my lashes. It lengthens the lashes pretty good, though I've tried other mascaras that lengthen just as well. Overall, I think the real beauty of this mascara is it's smudge-free staying power & it's curl-holding ability, but I could definitely do w/o the brittle dryness.

Life has a way of reaching up & biting you in the butt when you least expect it. This month has been crazy. As usual, I have trouble w/my own health on & off, that's to be expected. In addition to that, however, our sink plumbing decided to freak out, so we wound up w/a flood in the cabinets below. Grrr!

The wild finish? I just found out today that an old family friend is dying of breast cancer. She's currently in the hospital, but will shortly be transferred to a nursing home to stay until her death. I planned to tell you all about my L'Oreal DoubleExtend Mascara (w/BeautyTubes Technology) purchase. I guess I'm not in the mood. I will tell you all later, so please check back. Wet n Wild Ultimate Expressions

I've heard some good reviews on YouTube about Wet n Wild's Ultimate Expressions eye palette, so I decided to snag a couple at my local Walgreens. In one particular review, the individual swatched some of the Paradise Cove colors over an eye base (which is what I've done) & was amazed at the level of pigmentation in a drugstore product.

Well, I've tried this & I really like it! For a drugstore product the pigmentation is great, as you can see in the swatches. Unfortunately, the swatches don't really showcase the pretty shimmer & texture very well. But believe me when I say that these colors are very pretty & I love them! They're about 5 bucks a piece, unless you get a BOGO deal like I did. Very pretty!
