e.l.f. Lippies

You know, I've always said that I don't have a favorite drugstore makeup brand & that there are several brands with products I love. While that may be true to some extent, as I look over my makeup collection & look through my wishlist I notice that there are many e.l.f. products among both categories.

I love e.l.f.! Yes, they have their hits & misses like any brand, but they do have a lot of hits. I thought today I'd focus on some e.l.f. lippies on my wishlist.

e.l.f. Essentials lipstick - $1: I already have 2 of these in classy (natural pink) & posh (deep maroon). As I mentioned in a previous post, the packaging is sucky, particularly the fact that the lipstick doesn't screw down all the way. However, the lipstick formula itself is good w/nice pigmentation. I want to get it in the following shades shown in the image: Nostalgic (nude), Fantasy (deeper nude), & Flirtatious (color not as pictured, it's more of a bubblegum/barbie pink). See some swatches here.

e.l.f. Essential Super Glossy Lipshine - $1: I already have these in Pink Kiss & Watermelon & I love 'em both! They're smooth, not tacky, have good coverage for a gloss, & a gorgeous pearly shimmer. I want to get this in Mauve Luxe & Goddess. :)

e.l.f. Mineral Lipstick - $5: I've heard much about these. How they go on smoothly & are moisturizing & what great pigmented shades they come in. I've especially heard a lot about Runway Pink & how it's the perfect everyday/neutral pink. I so want to try it!

e.l.f. Studio Matte Lip Color - $3: I've been wanting to try this one for a while. From what I hear, it's matte w/o being drying. That's a major issue w/me, since I'm dry enough as it is. I've also heard that they're nicely pigmented. I want to try this in Natural & Tea Rose.

What e.l.f. products are you loving? Got any favorites? Do share! :)

Relax & Rejuvenate

Tired? Run down? It's always nice to step away from everything & take the time to relax & rejuvenate. Whether it's as simple as a nice, hot bubble bath or a luxurious spa break, it's good to just chill out & relax for a bit.

Spa services run the gamut from nail care to relaxing massages, hot spring baths & more. In some cases certain spas or spa directories offer really good deals that you can get in on.

If your wanting to rejuvenate & beautify, there's a number of beauty salons out there that provide a variety of beauty treatments. While some beauty salons offer haircut/style services, beauty salons in general should not be confused with a hair salon since their services are focused on skincare and cosmetics rather than haircutting/styling.

Want to know which salon or spa to check out? Wahanda.com is a great directory of all things spa & beauty treatment services. Each spa/salon listing has ratings & reviews from customers like you. Also, if you get in on their Mob Deals you can save up to 80% on the best spas, salons, & more!

Target Mini Haul

My Sister & I went to Target a few days ago, I got just 3 items: 2 e.l.f. essentials lipsticks & an essie nail lacquer. Just a note, the order of the lipstick list in the image is the opposite of the order of the actual lipsticks in the image. Classy is the pink & Posh is the red. Sorry about that.

The formula on these lipsticks are actually pretty good, they give nice coverage. Pretty impressive for a buck. The only downside is the stupid packaging. The lipsticks don't go all the way down, there's always a little bit sticking out the top, which increases your chances of smashing your lipstick. GRR!

I picked up the essie nail lacquer because I've been looking for the perfect nude nail color. Unfortunately, I don't think I've found it yet, lol. This is a cool color, but it's not a nude. It's more like a very light coffee. Like a lot of cream w/a bit of coffee thrown in for good measure. :) Coverage is about 3 coats. A nice nail color, but the search for the perfect nude continues. Do you guys happen to know of a perfect nude nail color that has really good or at least decent coverage? Let me know in the comments! :)

Cloth Pads?!!!

Wow! Ok, so I was browsing Etsy to get ideas for shop banners (I'm selling shop graphics on Etsy) & I came across these cloth menstrual pads.

Umm, ok so the obvious upside to this is they would be far more comfortable than plastic (better for the environment too) & I guess it's no different than using a cloth diaper, but in either case the clean-up afterward is one thing I would not want to mess with, plus you'd have to stick your used ones in your purse until you got home to clean it. YIKES!

What do you guys think, would you use these? Why or why not? Let me know in the comments! :)

NOTD: Essence - You Belong To Me

I received this nail polish along w/several other Essence shades a while ago, but I've only recently tried this particular shade. As you can see in the photo, it's a pretty mint green.

I said before about the others that these polishes run a little sheer & this polish is no exception, also the brush is a little tricky to work with.

However, you can get decent, not great, coverage in 2-3 coats. If you have the patience for multiple coats & a tricky brush, you might like these little, inexpensive polishes. They have quick drying time (not as quick as Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri) & they have some pretty shades too.

You can get these for 99¢ at Ulta.com
I received this & other products from a PR rep of the company. I did not pay for these products. This in no way effects my opinion of the products.
