New N.Y.C. Products!

Ah, new product releases! As you can see, N.Y.C. has several new products. In particular, I'm eyeballing the lip & eye products & some of the 24 nailcolor shades.

Although, I admit, I'm not much of a nail girl. Mainly because I lack technique & coordination. My nails always wind up becoming a hot mess before I'm even finished, so most of the time I don't bother.

However, that doesn't mean I don't find new nail shades exciting. On the contrary, I do! I haven't really tried that many N.Y.C. products, but I do like their liquid lipshines very much, & my Sister uses their long-wearing lip color & likes it.

What do you guys think of N.Y.C.? Do you have a certain N.Y.C. product that you love? Do tell! :)

New From L.A. Girl

L.A. Girl has added several new products to their lineup. Among them are their Mark My Eyes & Fineliner liquid liners (Fineliner looks more interesting to me), a new matte nail polish (I prefer gloss & shimmer, but evidently this is trendy right now), and some creme lipsticks.

I'm more interested in the liners & the lipsticks personally. What do you, my readers, think of these new products? Love 'em? Hate 'em? Curious, but haven't tried 'em yet? Let me know in the comments! :)

Claire's Makeup Kits

Claire's has released some makeup palettes to create 3 different looks: PopRockz, Sunkissed, & ReVamped.

I've tried some of their eye palettes before & liked them, the pigmentation was pretty good. So, I'm pretty curious about these.

Have any of you, my readers, caught a glimpse of these or even bought one (or all)? If so, what were you're impressions of the product? Tell me in the comments!

Coastal Scents 88 Metal Mania Palette

Metallic eyeshadow lovers rejoice! Coastal Scents has come out with a new 88 eyeshadow palette that is nothing but metallic colors.

Foil, pack, & sweep to your hearts content with these pigmented colors! Pigmented? Well, if they're anything like the Coastal Scents 88 Palettes I already own, then yes, these are nicely pigmented.

Is anyone else excited about this palette, or am I just overly giddy? Lol, let me know what you think in the comments!

Jordana Eye Primer/Base

CherryCulture.com has some new products available & a Jordana Eye Primer/Base is one of them. Their eye base is only $1.99. I wonder what the level of quality is w/this particular product.

I've heard good things about their liners, though as yet I haven't had an opportunity to try them. What do you think of Jordana products overall & would you try their eyebase?

This look was inspired by the pink & purple blooms of Spring. It didn't come out quite how I envisioned it, but I hope you all still like it.

NYX Studio Liquid Liner

Sorry I've been MIA ladies. Life gets very crazy sometimes, plus I am now attempting (& failing miserably, UGH) to get over a sneezy cold.

Anyhoo, I just wanted show you guys something that NYX will be releasing soon.

Doesn't this look cool? That top liner looks like bottled sky, clouds & all.

Mocha Motion

A look using my Maybelline e/s quad in Mocha Motion. I used mostly sponge tipped applicators in this look because I wanted to show that they are usable, instead of being wasteful & throwing them out. If nothing else, they can be used to smudge color along the lower lashline.

Vapour Beauty

I was given the opportunity to test some products from Vapour Organic Beauty. To make this an easier read, I'll do a quick rundown on each product.

Vapour Beauty Mesmerize Eye Color Treatment in Storm

Ugh, I just realized the name on the image is misspelled, forgive me.

Pros:
  • If you want a sheer wash of color, this will give you that.
  • Storm would work well for a smokey eye
Cons:
  • Didn't blend as smoothly as I would've liked
  • It seemed to take more product than normal to get the desired results, perhaps I was doing something wrong.
Comments:
I'm kinda on the fence about this one. It has it's good points, but it also seemed a little difficult to work with. Maybe it's just me.

Vapour Beauty Lipstick/Lipgloss

Pros:
  • Gloss is a nice sheer juicy pink w/plenty of shine. Lipstick gave my lips a nice & very subdued berry red color.
Cons:
  • Lipstick application wasn't as smooth as I would've liked.
  • Both lip products have a strange, but tolerable smell.
Comments:
Overall, I do like both products, but I like the gloss better. It went on much more smoothly w/a nice finish. I don't care for the smell of either product though.

Vapour Beauty Illusionist Concealer

Pros:
  • Decent Coverage
  • Easier to apply & blend than the lipstick & cream shadow
Cons:
  • Don't expect this to cover up a bruise, but it will soften the colors, making them less noticeable.
Comments:
Not bad overall, blends nicely, softens bruise colors, etc.

Final Comments:
Well, that's it. I think out of the whole bunch I'm happiest w/the gloss, but the concealer ain't bad either. Hope this helps anyone who wanted to know more about Vapour Beauty's products!

NYX Eyeshadow Base

Have any of you heard about NYX's new Eyeshadow Base? It's $6 ea. & it comes in 3 colors/finishes, each for a specific purpose. Make your brights even brighter by using the white base or use the pearl to intensify any shimmer. They also have a regular skintone shade for everything else. I'm curious to know if any of my readers have tried these. If yes, what do you think? Love it? Hate it? Feel free to leave a comment about it! :) - Click!

Rose Inspired Look

This was requested by the blogger behind mylanqolia.wordpress.com
Since I generally don't use red eyeshadow, this one was really hard for me,
as you'll probably be able to tell right away, lol. Maybe that was my problem,
I shouldn't have been so "red-centric". Oh well.

Olive Oil as Makeup Remover?

In retrospect, it does make sense that Olive Oil could be used to remove makeup. I just had never thought about it before. At least not until I saw this video by Michelle Phan, shown below.

Lash Control

Problem: Clumpy mascara wands & having to wipe them with tissue or against the inside of the mascara container. Very messy.

Solution: Lash Control, a new mascara invention that gets rid of the clumps w/o the mess & doesn't waste formula by having to wipe the brush on tissue. Simply squeeze the colored section of the container as your pulling out the brush. No muss, no fuss.

Consider this problem solved.

New! e.l.f. Mineral Liner

Have you heard about e.l.f.'s new mineral eyeliners? I'm curious, I wonder if they're any good. The product page says the following: "The natural based formula provides gentle coverage for even the most sensitive eyes. The twist up applicator is easy for instant use, no sharpening required. 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes." I know it's a pretty new product, but have any of you, my readers, had an opportunity to try this?
