Bigen Haircolor - A Safe Alternative?

So, I started looking into the natural hair dyes that you can find at health food stores. YIKES! I was used to paying about $10 for a box of my other dye, but these ran anywhere from $20-$30 a pop! I knew I couldn't afford that. So, I kinda gave up.
Flash forward to this evening, I'm perusing the Sally Beauty Supply website when I spot this - Bigen's Powder Haircolor. According to the website it "contains no ammonia" & it has "no heavy masking odor".
Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? The question is whether it holds up well to those claims. I'm curious to know if any of you, my readers, have tried this. Did you have issues w/this & do you usually have issues w/chemicals? I'm really curious because I'd love to be able to color my hair again.

Darkest Mahogany Brown
Hi All! Sorry for being MIA. I've been out of town for a few days, helping a friend. Actually, I was hoping that you, my lovely readers, can help me out with my dilemma. You see, I used to love dying my hair with Ultress' Darkest Mahogany Brown haircolor, but since developing allergies I've found that I have trouble with this. What I'm trying to do is find a natural alternative while matching, or at least coming very close to it, the mahogany brown haircolor made by Ultress. Any suggestions?
